10.1 Week 10 Overview: Chapter 8 - Editing Part 1
This week we really begin to familiarize ourselves with editing. You will learn basic concepts, screen a film and contribute to a discussion of that film with your peers. Then complete a short quiz.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this week, you will be able to:
Understand the vocabulary of editing.
Describe the basic functions of editing.
Begin to identify basic styles of editing and how those style affect the aesthetics of a film.
Recognize editing techniques that inform spatial and temporal relationships.
Evaluate how the duration, rhythm and pace of editing effects the spectator and film experience.
