GETTING STARTED
Welcome! This week we continue our study of mise-en-scéne which will culminate in a three to five page mise-en-scéne analysis due at the end of the week. Completing the content and discussion will prepare you for this assignment. If you have any further questions please contact me and/or post in the Q & A discussion for this class.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of week 6, you will be able to:
Identify and utilize the vocabulary of mise-en-scène.
Analyze how the staging, photography, framing, setting and décor affect the aesthetics of a film.
Describe how the various elements of mise-en-scène inform film genres and styles.
Evaluate how 15 the elements of mise-en-scène affect the spectator and film experience.
