3.3 LECTURE PRESENTATION - Shot Types Etc.
Here is a short PowerPoint I made which will help illustrate some of the concepts of chapter 2. There are topics, like verisimilitude the were brought forth in the last presentation that I have chosen not to reiterate. I have included slides in regards to shot type to help clarify the discussion. Shot types are more clearly discussed in our next chapter, chapter 6. Remember to think of this as highlights of important elements and not a review of the entire chapter.
Tip:
I am now embedding a "live version of the PowerPoint here. It is 37 minutes long. Feel free to watch it, or not...it has subtitles if you like them. Be forewarned that our learning outcomes have changed from those presented here. To reiterate they currently are:
Define the basic vocabulary of film production and film theory.
Analyze the aesthetics of filmmaking.
Evaluate how film style establishes the conventions of cinema.
Explore how film technique informs cultural development and social awareness.
